Listen and Learn 倾听和学习

Listening is important for those desiring to learn effectively. If we refuse to listen to others, it is difficult for us to have good communication with people. Worse still, we may miss the opportunity of acquiring new knowledge to keep abreast of what is in the society. Failing to be up to date, we cannot be relevant to our society at the cutting edge.

Listening to others requires humility. Indeed, humility is the vital attitude for a good learner. Most people do not like to relate to arrogant people. If a person is humble, he or she can learn something from anyone. According to Confucius, “If three people walk together, one must be my teacher.” (三人行必有我师!” Therefore, it is not a surprise that Confucius is being esteemed as one of the greatest teachers whose teaching has influenced thousands of people.

Beside that, the learners do not only listen, but they learn to listen thoughtfully. It means that we need to respond to the information available to us relevantly. Also, we are able to avoid repeating or applying what is bad or distorted. To be able to discern, we must think and reflect of what we have heard rather than assimilating everything. We are living in a world much influenced by materialism and ethical relativism. Hence, listening and discerning thoughtfully is the first step to prevent oneself from the negative influence of the trends of the world.

As listening and learning are closely related and necessary to the learners, we need to listen with humility and respond relevantly today.

倾听对于有效率的学习者来说非常重要。如果我们拒绝倾听别人的意见，我们就很难与人有良好的沟通。更糟糕的是，我们可能会错过获取新知识的机会，不能及时了解社会中的情况。如果我们不时时更新，就无法与走在社会前端的人联系起来。

倾听他人需要谦虚。的确，谦虚是一位良好学习者必须拥有的态度。大多数人都不喜欢与傲慢的人交往。如果一个人谦虚，他可以从任何人那里学到一些东西。据孔子说，”三人行必有我师!” 难怪孔子倍受尊敬，他的教导影响深远。

除此之外，学习者不仅只是倾听，还要学会思考所听到的，这意味着我们对所接触到的资讯能够有適当的回应。同时，我们要避免错误及避免重复扭曲的思维和趋势。为了能够好好的分辨，我们必须好好思考我们所听到的，而不是盲目吸收一切。如今我们是生活在一个倍受物质主义和道德相对主义影响的世界。因此，仔细聆听和分辨是防止自己受到负面资讯和潮流影响的第一步。

由于倾听和学习有密切的关系，因此作为学习者我们必须谦虚倾听，並且给予适当的回应。
