Beirut: A bank account of a Lebanese beggar woman has been revealed to have amounted to 33 million UAE dirhams, which is worth 13 million 86 million rupees in Pakistan rupees.

This was revealed when the Jamal Trust Bank was closed by the US Treasury Department. In August this year, the US administration allegedly financed Hezbollah, after which the Lebanese government closed the bank.

Lebanon's central bank governor, Riyadh Salame, has assured Jamal Trust Bank account holders that their money is safe even though the bank is closed.

Later on Wednesday, the Lebanese Central Bank issued two checks that became popular on social media, both of which belonged to a woman, Wafa Mohammad Alad. It turns out that these are a female beggar's checks worth 18 million dirhams and 14 lakh dirhams respectively.

The woman is begging all day outside a major hospital in the city and is known as Hajan Wafa. The hospital staff is aware of this woman and as news of her tremendous wealth has been made public, she has been surprised at Wafa.
