Bear Week!
...It's Daddy Daughter Date Night and Daddy Wins!!
Daddy Wins!
Into town for a dinner, drinks and laughs...
But, being a young woman, she still did makeup and hair.
When she came downstairs, heads turned.
Her cousin complimented her,
her aunt and uncle did,
and her dad?
I... well, my heart swelled with pride
at the young woman she's become!
There's this old aquarium in Provincetown, that's now a pedestrian mini-mall
and a bar out on the harbor. Inside is a dozen or so fast food,
finger food take out places. the bar has a couple dozen small tables
and a dozen picnic benches over looking the harbor.
Aquabar is my absolute fave place! In my Fave town.
She and I grabbed some scallion pancakes and some pan fried ravioli,
a couple of lemon drops, and sat at a table laughing,
looking out over the harbor, and talking
and then walked town for a few hours.
We finished the night at a place called Saki,
where she ordered a spicy tuna roll and we each had a Sake for nightcap.
Walking town, I shot maybe 200 shots, and we ran into family,
her friends, and mine! All in all, great night.
Also, Bear Week, so, lots of hugs for me. Not so much for her.
We're walking Commercial Street, center of town and she turns
to me and says, 'Uhhh dad... It's... It feels like Bear Week!'
Me, ever observant, 'No... nope. that's end of July early August, usually.'
Wrong again, dad!
Bear Week, for those not familiar with PTown or the LGBTQ Community
is a week the town celebrates all the big boys in the Gay community.
And Bears? Well, they're just big friendly boys hugging it out!
Poor girl got all dressed up and no one to play with!!!
Be good. Do good.

sounds like she had a pretty proud dad to be with. That was likely all the play she wanted to make dressing up worthwhile.
