Real World Unpopular Truths

in #life-money5 years ago (edited)

Steemit’s self-improvement sphere is not devoid of the same patterns that keep people a slave.

I compile here unpopular thoughts nobody likes to hear…

…but should.

Most entrepreneurs aren’t ready to transform their lifestyle hustles into actual businesses.

Watching DTube videos is the same thing as watching TV.

So you never actually “stopped watching TV.”

You’re afraid of cold calling.

Cold showers and intermittent fasting won’t make you a better human being.

Courses are just folders in your computer. Most of the time… you don’t even finish’em.

Mentally masturbating with your social media tweeps won’t pay your bills.

Unless you’re @tonytrillions

You have no real clue as to why you’re as successful as you are.

Which explains the generic platitudes when people ask you how you did it.

You’re afraid of selling.

Studying about copywriting or paid traffic won’t get you clients.

Most clients won’t care for your copywriting skills. In fact, they don’t know what copywriting is.

You know damn well that if people execute every step of your course by the T… they won’t get the same results.

Because in your rush to “put the course out there” you left out crucial information.

In fact, that’s why you need your earnings disclaimer.

Handwriting letters won’t win you clients.

Your “epiphanies” are just moments of dopamine overload.

Next morning… you won’t even remember that get-rich idea of yours.

Weed is bad for you. So is alcohol. So is banging a different thot every Friday night… “G.”

Being passionate about something doesn’t mean people will pay you money for it.

A team of cheap, good-enough VAs from India or the Philippines is better than any great freelancer.

Your course is not worth the $497 you’re asking for it.

Biggest cause of your failure is your own procrastination.

You’re building a Shopify store because “everyone else is doing it.”

You’re learning copywriting because people told you to. Not because you want to.

Watching entrepreneur videos on DTube doesn’t make you a better entrepreneur.

You love to buy a new $197 course every two weeks… but care not to pay $20 a month for good hosting.

This blog may, or may not be, reminders for myself.

The country you’re from… does play a big part in your success.

Yes, you’ve got an unfair advantage of you’re American.

You talk about abundance and blue ocean strategies… but you’re scared shitless of creating new competitors.

Most of the courses you‘ll buy are just one more step in someone’s funnel.

Being an active member of Unfuck Steemit means you’re programmed to buy and consume more.

You love asking people for advice… until they ask you to pay $79 for a half-hour call.

Then you unfollow.

Linkedin is a better place to find clients than Steemit is.

Dripping a course only means you’ve got a faint idea on what you want to talk about… and you’re counting on your “community” to fill-in the rest.

Today’s Fortnite players are just like you were 10 years ago. Except you played Call of Duty: Ghosts.

You laugh at @dreamer254 anti-videogame antics… but you damn sure would want to play some more.

We both know it.

Today’s Fortnite players are just like you were 20 years ago.

Except you played Mario Kart.

We aren’t that different from normies… you know?

Dropping out of college wasn’t “the best thing you could’ve ever done.”

Getting your shit together was.

Most of your followers are just numbers in a funnel to you.

You and I know damn well you’re running the 5% number on your follower count.

You shouldn’t subscribe to daily emails lists.

Daily email lists are programming you to become an endless consumer.

Most steempreneurs are flat out broke.

On average, people grinding 9-to-5 are making WAY MORE money than most steempreneurs.

Leaving for Thailand (because “geoarbitrage”) won’t fix your finances.

Remember… you can call yourself a “digital nomad” only if you forget your deodorant.

“Lead with value” is just an euphemism for “keep listening while I fetch this offer for you.”

9-to-5 people call you crazy because it is crazy to spend years giving all your money away to ebook and courses creators.

Sperging on high-IQ signals low-IQ.

Scrolling steemit is not a high-ROI skill.

Neither is talking about high-ROI.

“Most online marketers are able to ball-out because they're literally paying zero tax.”

Most testimonials are written when the dopamine rush is still high.

No course survives mind share three months in…

… unless you’re an affiliate, clearly.

Feeling FOMO?

That's ESPECIALLY the time you have to be careful. Your wallet will thank you for it.

Walk away. Come back a day later.

"No f*cks given!"

See the asterisk? You clearly give a fuck.

People love seeing you sleepwalk through life.

The easiest person to fool/lie to is yourself.

Income streams aren’t businesses.

Shitdropping from China is not the solution to your financial troubles.

Neither is that course.

“Actionable advice” accounts are the easiest ones to become addicted to.

Each blog you “like” (for later reading) provides just a little dopamine hit.

Nothing more.

You’re after dopamine hits, not success. You’re a junkie.

Feeling this blog? I hear you.

Let me know your story. My steem wallet open.
