This week I like personal content the most

in #life5 years ago

Not sure how to start a free-write after 6 days off and so these words will have to do.

Cutting to the chase, my Grandad passed last weekend. It was expected and he was looked after until the end. What was not expected was my mothers heart attack the next morning after she had flown to the UK following the news.

Thankfully, she left the hospital last night with a stent and is back at my Brothers house. Bizarrely, when my Grandma passed a decade ago, my mothers brother suffered a heart attack - stress on the mind, stress on the heart. The stent has done him well though, and so I hope for the same for my mother.

I'm leaving the Island next Wednesday having originally planned to move a little later - after mothers birthday. But as she will be now in the UK, I'll be heading over a little sooner and will hopefully have a roof over my head and a couch to sleep on somewhere up in the Northwest, where she'll be based.

My daughter lives a little further south, and so it will be a couple more weeks until I get to see her. Nottingham will likely be my base to start with, but I guess I'll be looking for work all over. And well, if the UN give me a call from Valencia, I think I'll be packing my bags again....

I have has plenty of time this past week to write, but my desire to be creative or share sad news just hasn't been there. The interesting thing is that it has been the personal posts that I have read which has been the content luring me back.

I've tended to avoid HF and STEEM price talk and have found that following a little separation from grinding out posts each day, it's the personal content from the community that I appreciate the most. This could be due to the relationships I've made here to some extent, but I'm happy to read this personal/original content from just about anyone.

Thank you for sharing yourselves and your lives :)

This short effort today, and the Leagues post tomorrow should hopefully give me a kick up the ass to get back into the swing of things.

Hey mate, sorry to hear about your grandad. It's good that your mum left hospital and can recover somewhere familiar. All the best moving forward. 😊

Thank you very much, let's see how we go :)

My condolences on the passing of your granddad, Asher and good thoughts for your Mom. Stress can do a lot of damage to our body but sometimes there is no way to avoid it.
You certainly do your share on here and it is appreciated. Be well. ♥️

Thank you buddy, I'll do my best and the same to you.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, I know you posted that he had little time left. Still it is always hard to lose a family member. Best wishes to your mother and her recovery, at least she has someone to discuss any issues with and someone that knows what she is going through and able to keep an eye on her.

The job will come when the time is right. Perhaps after all the recent family issues, and then getting to visit your daughter, the job will find you and you will have one less worry.

Thank you.

She's normally only 10 minutes walk away here in Mallorca, heading back 'home' will add a 3 hour flight, but at the same time put me closer to my daughter. I'll find the balance one day I guess, and maybe even a job too.

Cheers.

Sorry to hear about the family but hope that it will all get sorted out and get to normal although normal doesn’t come back after things like that. Great to see you back and updating as we are truly becoming closer as a community as we explore more than just Steem here.

Thank you. More than just Steem, exactly.

So sorry to hear about your Grandad. Expected or not, these things take a toll. Almost 20 years after losing mine, there are moments, even days that still grab me hard in the feelings.

Glad to hear your Mum is well enough to be released.

Look after yourself and those you love mate. We only go round once on this ride they call life.

Thanks @sparkesy43, we do indeed only get one go around, and hopefully some better times coming up on the next stops.

Take as long as you need to look after yourself Asher. We'll all still be here, well most of us anyway.

Sorry to hear about your Grandad and Mum but happy that she is with family and doing well.

Summer has returned with a vengeance today so, if it keeps up, it shouldn't be too much of a shock on your return.

Hopefully we'll meet somewhere over the coming months although I have no plans to go "up north" until November. 😁

Good luck with the job hunting. 😍

Most of us, have we been dropping like flies? :O

Thank you for the message, and no, no shocks if it happens to be raining when I land in Manchester next week. Quite fitting I guess!

Job, yeah, I'll get on that shortly!

I have been off here for quite some time but your post was the first I saw as I logged back in today. Sending some love and healing vibes out to you and your family. I wish you all the best in your travels and new beginnings. <3

I was just thinking I'd not seen that fiery looking thumbnail image for a while, hi!

Thank you for the kind message @amariespeaks, and welcome back :)

I'm so sorry to heat about your family problems. My condolences and I hope your mom gets well soon. Take it easy, it's not the end of the world if you take a few days off for yourself, we'll be here :)

Thank you @erikah. I've had a few days to myself and so will try to get on the bandwagon again now.

Sorry about your Grandad and your moms scare. Life is too short and fragile and glad you are spending time with your mom and maybe you can help her relax. I must admit I look for personal stuff as well as I find it real and interesting.

Thank you. Yeah it's original real, and has a habit of pulling those strings.

I´m sorry to hear what happened to your family. My condolences. My Mom got a stent as well last year and she´s doing great since that, hope that calms you a bit. All the best to you and your family.

Thank you. And that's great news, I hear these stents have a really good success rate and so I have hope for plenty more years.
