Idea: The Soul of Every Innovation

in #life6 years ago

Nothing begins solely without it generating first from an idea, then the rest is history. It is a well known fact that ideas, in general, are mostly underestimated. Not for any other reason than that they are rather obscure or abstract in nature. They are assets that cannot be easily measured. Be as it may however, ideas are the very foundation upon which even the existence of human in general (from the very beginning to the very end) are founded. They are like energy whose powers are belittled or undervalued until they slip (all away) between the fingers of their bearer

Lets both take a brief moment to muse or cogitate over the day spent so far. Ponder about what you took for breakfast, what was shown on the TV, what was discussed in the morning papers, what occupied you at your work place, where you spent your leisure at after work, the type of music you listened to. If you consider these whole activities, no doubt, you will conclude that they all are conglomeration of ideas and thoughts. What you took as breakfast this morning is most likely the result of someone else's thoughts and ideas, and so is what you took for breakfast and whatever it is of the news you read from this morning papers.

I took bread, boiled eggs, butter and a cup of coffee this morning. Well, eating bread with boiled eggs isn't a popular tradition in this part of the world. in fact I would have preferred to have mine fried. I was actually lured into trying this combination (bread and boiled eggs) by a friend who saw the combination at an outing weeks back. It wasn't a bad combination anyway. I would try it again if given another opportunity. Now, what I am still trying to express with this is that the choice of my breakfast was influenced by someone else's idea and most likely yours too. The music on the radio, the news in the morning papers, the job that occupied most of your time today are all as a result of someone else's thoughts and ideas.

How Does An Idea Really Originates?

Often times, an idea is a product of either discontentment or of ones passion.Say you are not satisfied with something, either at your workplace, at home or in your community at large, you are bound to begin to look for ways to counter this feeling of dissatisfaction. This leads you into thinking creatively on how to address the source of the dissatisfaction. And this applies to other spheres of our living.

The chain starts usually with the very feeling of dissatisfaction, then the thorough thinking of how to address the dissatisfaction, then an idea is borne from this brainstorming session. It is of my personal understanding that this is an in-built phenomenon in all human. We are constantly seeking out balances to all occurrences or affairs. We never readily set out to accept unbalance or dissatisfaction in any of our endeavors irrespective of the source, rather we seek out solutions trying to create balance.

Where ideas arise from passion, creativity is borne as well. Let's look at someone who is so passionate about literacy or, say, education in general. Such a person would suddenly find him/herself constantly brooding over ithoughts that are quite related to improving or even establishing an education center. Now, that is an IDEA.

So...

So, here I am entreating the community at large on the need to value ideas and their makers (idea makers). Nothing originates from nothing... in other words, everything originates from an idea or a conglomeration of ideas which are in turn given birth to from the thinking process (brainstorm) of their makers. And often times, we given credence to the executor of an idea than its creator. In my own understanding, I think this is as bad as giving credence to an adoptive mother than the birth mother. Like a poem said, "The first gave you life, the other taught you to live in it..." In my opinion, I think they are both important and that the one who gave one life is more important than the other who taught one to live in it. You might believe otherwise but one is so certain is that they are both VERY important.

And one more thing...

" A new idea is delicate. It can be killed by a sneer or a yawn; it can be stabbed to death by a quip and worried to death by a frown on the right man's brow. " - Ovid

Value what you've got and guard it with your life.

Like what has been depicted in the movie "Inception", sometimes, ideas can be the most dangerous weapon in our arsenal.
