The History Beneath The Waters

Not too long ago, about fifty years down the history, my parents, my grandparents and a whole town had to move from their houses on a near by hill.. forever. All because the Iron Gates, the dam constructed on Danube at about 10 kilometers from my place was ready to start making electricity and money for the current and future geneartions.

In just a few weeks after everybody moved from the old town to their new locations, waters and tears flooded their abandoned homes making everything disappear under waters. During decades though the big old Danube has brought us not only fresh water, fish and tourists but river deposits as well. Lots of mud has covered the remaining of the old town almost entirely and now everything is only a buried memory.

During times like we currently have, when the water level gets very low due to heavy rains in our country and others on the course of Danube, one can not only see just mud and branches on the bottom of the lake. There are still some remainings of the old town, a few pieces of history that can be seen.

Yesterday while cycling this thing got to my attention, which I really have no clue what initially was. I don't think it was a house or something like this, before getting covered by water, because it has a pretty weird design. It is though one of the few remainings of the drowned town that can be seen. Glad I found it, but I hope to not see it again because I don't like this low water level at all. Summer has kicked in full power by the way but haven't got the chance to get to a pool. It would be great though...
