A little tattered one winged dove is living in the front garden...
It was with a great deal of surprise to see a dove with what looked like a broken wing running out of the garden one morning. On closer inspection this little bird looked worse for wear. Had he been in a fight with a cat or was he just old? I instantly hoped that a cat and its mates have not made their way over our 6 feet fences. I understand if they had, there is a lot of food to catch in our yard. Arming myself with a broom or a water pistol is an attractive idea.
Looking after the tattered dove that cannot fly was the priority! Into the garden went two dishes for seed and water. I am comforted to know that it can safely hide under the many plants.

No janton, it can't. Have not seen it today, looking after this bird is a new thing for us!
howdy angiemitchell! well I was hoping that it could use your place as a safe home for awhile at least.
Poor thing. Your yard is like a bird hospital, or bird retirement home.
These are my thoughts too, I can't not look after injured, old or "retired" birds if they appear in the garden.
