I will have chocolate please ....
After dinner I was offered an ice-cream cone and I find this a hard one to resist. A little bit of ice-cream in a wafer cone is a delicious treat. It is summer in Australia and at the moment the country is being fried with the heat. So why not eat ice-cream when it is offered. What I particularly find very yummy is the dark chocolate dairy free.
I am not dairy intolerant but there is a member of the family who is, so when she is coming to stay one will find Weis's dairy free in the the freezer. Not only do they sell Dark Chocolate, you will find Simply Coconut and Boysenberry, Acai and Coconut in the Supermarkets in Australia and in Asia.
Weis is located in Toowoomba, my home town. I was raised on their bar shaped fruit ice-cream known as Weis Bars, they are delicious. The dairy-free line is relatively new.
According to Wikipedia, and yes I looked up Weis to find out more. Amazingly I always find out a bit more information that I do not know.
Les Weis created the fruito bar in 1957 and sold them at his corner store in Toowoomba. One side of the bar is ice-cream and the other side is banana, pineapple and passionfruit. Since that time a couple of other flavours have been created, one being mango and macadamia nut. They are to die for, delicious. Once you taste it then you are gone.
In 2016, 30 percent of the business was outside Australian and in 2017 the second generation of the Weis family sold the company to a Dutch Anglo firm called Unilever.

Wikipedia research is a funny thing. Often times after I do a bit of research I find that I'd rather have not known. Sometimes it is nice to just stay with your preconceived ideas about something. That's just a random thought I had that is basically unrelated to this post :)

It might be a random thought but I am sorry to hear that hear that Weis is no longer run by the Toowoomba family. Always changes aren't there?
Yes, that is a disappointment. Everything little and good seems to get snapped up. Dang change - I'm working hard to learn to embrace it.
I know, it is just that some changes are not as easy to accept. Dang alright!
