Weekend Chillin, Food & "Gem Show"
I've been all about my food lately and with a few things on our to-do list on Saturday we decided to stop by The Bunker at Springwood for breakfast.
It's been a while since we were there last. Although their food has always been excellent we prefer the much more private, roomier, booths at Mountains Eats at Valley Heights. But they closed down a couple of weeks ago thus the visit to the Bunker.
While the decor, tight space and friendly staff remained the same, the menu seems to have changed a little bit because I really don't remember this big breakfast being like this.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. It's just different from the last big breakfast we had here. That said though it was delicious and just the thing my body needed to kick start the day.
We headed up to Katoomba soon after and noticed "Gem Show" signs along the highway. Not very well put together, a little dingy, signs that should have clued us in on what kind of gem show it was going to be, but we followed the trail anyway. It has been a very long time since we've been to a gem show.
Eventually we walked into a eerie hall with 4 distinct stalls.
One had glassware, another had jewellery and two with crystals, although the other one was mainly selling lapis lazulis. Hardly a gem show tbh with only one stall "representing" but it was good to oogle crystals nonetheless.

Oogling was all we could do ~ did you notice some of the price tags?!!
This isn't the gem show we're used to where there's bargains and plenty of well priced goodies to be had.

It really was nothing like the Windsor Gem & Mineral fair or Gemkhana but at least that one stall gave me a decent crystal hit. It has been a long time and I needed that hit ;)
We were in and out in the space of 5 minutes.
Headed up to Katoomba and then home again to finish off a very nice and relaxing day with more food and a well deserved nap.

Unfortunately anything held out of the capital cities here in Australia is often like that, unless they have an awesome organiser holding it. This results in great events not being successful as they just don’t get the numbers.
If you see any great events in rural areas please post as they need exposure.

There's an annual gem show out at Glenbrook every year, that one usually has a lot more stuff. This one was way too random and like you said no exposure, and definitely didn't have the numbers.
I will definitely promote shows I see in time.

That's an impressive looking big breakfast! I use up most of a box of eggs with my lot when making scrambled eggs, was great when we had chickens XD
Sometimes those pokey little shows turn up some treasures, but not this time eh :)
