The elderly are the most important groups of society that need attention and care after providing them with services and ideas that have contributed significantly and effectively to the building of the present world. All cultures, traditions and religions have called for the respect of the elderly. The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said: And praises our great and enjoins good and forbids evil. "
Areas of respect and care for older persons
Respect for older persons is a responsibility of the State, its institutions, employees, private institutions and members of the society, especially the young, and for the care of the elderly:
1 Every person who meets a great sheikh must listen to his hadeeth without interruption and respect him regardless of what he has done, and start with peace on him.
2 To provide them with health, social and psychological care by providing them with the necessary treatment, and not to interrupt them; to continue to visit them, to accompany them to trips and visits, and to educate them and encourage generations to communicate with them. And must be aware of their limited ability and weakness of their body and mind, and respected for a large age of young people, God pleased him who respects him and helps him in the great as reported by the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him.
3 Do not weigh him in the law or duty or rule, God has relieved his pride and majesty from the elderly in the acts of worship, he has the right to fast in fasting, and prayer sitting or on the side, and many other things; the best individuals to relieve the great excuse for the old age.
4 In the case of war, no killing or major conflict should be taken into consideration, and it is not conducive to fighting.
5 To secure a monthly salary to meet his needs, has lost his age in the service of society and its members, and the best state to reward and grant him what preserves his dignity and enrich him from the question.
The importance of respect for the elderly
The respect and appreciation of older people has many positive effects on the level of the individual and society, including:
1 Respect for and appreciation of older people instills this concept in children, which leads them to respect older people in the future, creating a generation with a high culture.
2 The individual feels secure in the future and is confident that he will receive respect and appreciation from others.
3 The adult who respects the reward of Allaah is rewarded for doing what is good.
4 Respect for the elderly indicates the highness of the society and its name.

I think people should be nice to everyone. I also don't believe in giving anyone special treatment for any reason other than because I want to. Just because someone is old doesn't mean they automatically deserve respect, gratitude, and servitude. Just be nice to everyone. Old people aren't special unless you want them to be and apparently you do. Not sure why though. Just because they're old doesn't mean they've done any good or contributed much if at all.
Your words may be right, but respecting and appreciating the elderly from parents is a duty and is coupled with faith in God in our Islamic religion.
