Just Another Winter's Day in Perth
It's hard to believe it's winter here in perth qhen you have weather like this. Today we took a leisurely boat cruise down the Swan River from the Perth CBD to Freemantle. We started at Elizabet Quay at about 11am, and cruised for about an hour and a quarter to reach Freemantle just a little before lunch time.
The water was calm, and the sky was clear and blue. Not a cloud to be seen.
Even the Bell Tower was enjoying some winter sun.
We left the cityscape far behind as we headed down the river.
In Freo we soon found out that Monday is not the day to go. A lot of shops and markets were closed, but we did enjoy a good walk through the streets, and went across to Little Creatures for some pizza and beer for lunch. The kids commandeered my phone to play games, so I didn't get any photos there...
Before long it was time to head back up the river, for another hour and a quarter cruise, enjoying the views along the way.
We arrived back in the city just befoee sunset, and walked around Elizabeth Quay for a while to get some photos. There is quite a bit of development still going on, with some apartments, and the the new Ritz-Carlton Hotel going up quickyly there too. It did make for quite a nice photo opportunity too.
Another great day of showing my Dad around the place, and enjoying some really pleasant winter sunshine, instead of being couped up at work.

Oh yes, I'm jealous! I am originally from Perth, and it is one of the best cities I've lived in! It isn't fair that your winter looks better than most of our summer!
I was worried we'd be having wind and rain the whole time my Dad is here. We had that last week, and this week has been perfect weather so far. Hope it stays like this a while longer. Perth is awesome. We love it here.
