Hi Friends!

Dancing West Coast Swing is one of my biggest passions and creative outlets. I was out dancing the other night, and was struck the unique flow that you can get into with another person and how I wanted to bring more of that energy into my everyday life.

One thing that can kill the energy of a partner dance really quickly – is two people trying to do their own thing. Instead of creating something together, it becomes a struggle for power and dominance. The dances that really shine are when both people can relax into the connection and just listen to one another.

It is a totally different feeling to tap into the creative flow of energy with another person and create something together that really fits with each other’s movements and with the music.

What Kind of Life Lessons can be Gained from My Ramblings on Flow and Connection?

The biggest takeaway for me is that the juiciest creative energy flows from letting go. If we are trying to force something or barrel forward, we are really missing out on the kind of energy we could be tapping into.

I am personally guilty of this! I view “hustling” as a value and am proud of all my hard work. It’s just way too easy to get caught in the rat wheel of constantly hustling and never stopping to allow blank space for the mind to wander and listen.

Block Off White Space on your Calendar

Reflecting on this has made me realize that just saying, “I should meditate more” or I should “Give myself some down-time” is never going to happen if I don’t physically schedule it.

Starting now… I’m going to literally schedule “Blank Space” on my calendar where I give myself permission to do NOTHING. No pressure to be productive – just time to enjoy the moment, and give my creative mojo some room to breathe. I think the key is going to be treating this time as sacred. There will always be something that needs to happen, and so I’m going to be working on treating this blank space like a top priority.

Thoughts?

I hope you guys enjoyed hearing the ramblings of a dancer and maybe found a little dose of inspiration from it. I’m curious, does anyone else schedule downtime on their calendar… or am I a little crazy? J If anyone has thoughts on how to incorporate more of these moments of “flow” into our days – please add them to the conversation!

Xo, Lea

Gear That I Used in this Vlog

To add an extra layer of value and transparancy to my vlog's - I have started listing the gear I use at the bottom. Today’s setup was a little more minimal because it was filmed while traveling. If you ever have questions about the gear I use or how I use it – please don’t hesitate to ask!

You are so sweet @skyleap!! I love it!!

hahaha! I love it, Lea! Nice shades :)

It's so true...sometimes when it comes to creativity, less is more. To just allow that to flow. So true.

YES!!!! Hahah I was really hoping you would see this video and catch my Vince Revolution look. 😎

Confession: I watch a good chunk of your videos I just don't always comment!

aww no way!! That just made my night. :)

Should of started with "aaaaand we're live, awesome, hey how's it going, guys. LeaRevolution here" haha

hahahha Right??? Lea Revolution fail...

I film in my car on occasion... mainly when I get a good video idea and I'm at work. LOL The Lea Revolution might need to make an appearance at some point.

@dnews... i'm not gonna get hit with copyright infringements am I? lol

Make it happen! It's always fun to play around with different characters.

You write good stuff Lea.

"The biggest takeaway for me is that the juiciest creative energy flows from letting go. If we are trying to force something or barrel forward, we are really missing out on the kind of energy we could be tapping into."

Life has been teaching me this lesson lately in large doses.

Sometimes life does does that to us. Lessons can feel like a ton of bricks. hahah

no dance partnert? we should fund @raised2b to get some time off work

hahah even if he had enough free time... he doesn't like to be on camera.

You mentioned it.

Yeah that's true... I guess just wishful thinking on my part that he will change his mind. ;)

dont you think maryjane will be jealous if you open up Steem Dance show and get more upvotes than Steem Sisters show?! :D

Hahah that is such a fun idea!! Mary is a great dancer too!! We are just good at different types of dance.

She is great at solo movement and I’m better with partner dancing. 😊

i see, if i keep on posting, you will never run out of ideas :D

can you tell me more about the video editor "imovie" you used?

sure! It is a free video editing software that comes on every apple device. So my IPhone and Ipad have a more limited version and my Macbook Pro has a more robust version of the program.

It is not as advanced as final cut pro, but Imovie still has some good editing capabilities.

alright, thanks for shedding more light

I think everyone needs a break and the blank space in calendar to "DO NOTHING" could help. I wish you the best @coruscate!

Thanks! haha we'll see how this goes! :)

I think I'm gonna have to join you in scheduling BLANK SPACE on my calendar.

I'm also much of a hustler and I value my hustle a lot....

I don't think you're crazy or something.
I just think you're normal.

P.S....I'd like to know if you were able to keep up with the blank space and treated it as sacred as you'd love to....

Cheers

Thanks for the thoughtful response! I hope i'm able to keep the "blank space" sacred as well! We'll see how I do after a week or two of trying it out!

Sounds like you are going to try it as well... good luck on your journey as well! :)

Yeah ✌
Since you mentioned it, I've had thoughts on doing something similar but never gave it a go ahead.

So I think I'm just gonna give this a try

Thanks ma'am

That's awesome! I hope it goes well for you. :) I tried it yesterday again and really enjoyed it.

Good
I'm happy for you....
I haven't been able to put it to practice though....
I will today hopefully.....

Cheers.....

P. S..... I still haven't gotten a feedback from you on the guitar lessons you promised to help with....

Really helpful

A little quiet time is necessary. Easier said than done though.

Agree. I'm hoping that actually blocking it on my calendar will help. <3
