Transcranial Direct Current Brain Stimulation Improves Focus

The concept of a "thinking cap" is not science fiction. Electricity can be used to activate different portions of the brain just as electricity can cause muscles to involuntarily flex when stimulated.

The twist is anyone can buy one of these thinking caps. They are for sale on Amazon, Ebay, etc. You can see here on Amazon an example of such a device for sale. You don't need a prescription for it, you don't need permission to upgrade the capabilities of your brain, nor should you have to ask for permission.

There are risks of course (just as there are risks using nootropics). Nootropics for those who do not know are nutritional supplements which have been determined to boost the thinking capacity of the brain.

Self hacking to transcend physiological limitations

The human brain is a bottleneck. Physiological limits do not have to be limits on the capability of a person to achieve success in life. If a cap can improve focus as well as a pill can then why use the pill? Why put the kidneys, liver, etc at increased risk using the pill? In addition, the FDA regulates the pill but no regulation can prevent someone from buying or creating their own Transcranial Direct Current Brain Stimulator.

Biohacking is all about self control.

Interesting developments, I am not to sure how safe and if it would work for every case but I would be interested in seeing the progress of this development with time...

Who knows, probably we can use this kind of application to help with other disorders

It can also help people become better than well or potentially augment thinking ability. It's worth testing it out if you want to buy a kit and see. I'm going to test it out when I get a chance.

Good luck... I would take a wait and see approach, please update us and tag me so I can follow up with it

I think at this state it is still bullshit. The electrical stimulation is way too general (water-soaked sponges through the hair, for sure!) and unfocussed to improve so many different diseases lie depression, ADD, etc.
If it works for some, then due to the placebo-effect which is fair enough, but the science behind is not convincing.
If it really would have an effect, it would be much more dangerous to apply and it would not be sold on Amazon.
This kind of stimulation is effective in improving your brain the same way like the TENS is effective in building up you muscels. None at all.
But it fits perfectly well in our convenience-society. Workout without actual motion? Just apply some pads. Improving your brain? Just apply some sponges. It the american way of biohacking.
