Proof Of Payment Post - Brian Courteau

in #life6 years ago

This is a proof of payment post, save your upvotes and don't upvote this post!

This is a proof of payment post so that all the wonderful people that contributed with upvotes can see that Brian received all the money from the 2 posts I did for him. He received not only the SBD, but also the steem, as I took the SP from the posts and liquified it by buying steem so he didn't have to wait for me to power down the SP.

All told the two posts amounts totaled:

$107.493 sbds
$26.21 steem

Here are the wallet entries:

I am so proud of everyone that came together here and really supported an wonderful cause. Both Brian and Lynn have really felt your love and respect and I know they are very very grateful for the outpouring of care!

Thank you all!

Do I need to resteem for my eyes on this for you? I’m sure my follower knows you sent it all.

Edited, I was torn so I just resteemed it. Just so he knows if he comes across your post.

:P... its ok... you're funny @beeyou! It was a great effort by everyone and really showed me some of the wonderful people we have on the platform! :)

I am glad we were able to help a little bit, one less needed worry is always a blessing during the times they are both going through. Life is not easy at the best of times, let alone at some of the low times. But they are both survivors both are fighters, and both know what is real.

I agree with you completely @bashadow... Things will still be tough, but hopefully this will help them a little (just knowing people really care) :)

I know you know this, but if you really don't want people to upvote your post, there's a setting for that. :)

As it is, every good post has some value, so it's only fair. You keep going above and beyond the call, and while you don't expect any compensation for it, you're still working with the same people who you're rallying to render help elsewhere. So it kind of loops back around. :)

steemit turned it off

Hunh. They did? You're right. It's gone. Thanks for pointing it out. I haven't used it for weeks so I didn't even notice.

Okay, @davemccoy, I take it all back. The part about payment, not the rest. :)

hahaha... I didn't even know that there was a button that turned off... See you learn something new every day... :)

And btw my point of the post was to make sure that everyone got to see that the posts paid out... There was one big guy in particular that wanted me to show that I paid it all like I said I would... I debated whether to say that or not, so basically I just wanted people not to feel obligated to upvote... But for teaching me something new (even though it doesn't work anymore, here is a token of gratitude for your advice :)

Trust, apparently, is in short supply around here. I understand, but at some point...

At any rate, I'm sure you're relieved to show the money gone, too, which would be the reason why I would do it, not because anyone wanted to make sure I did, unless they also had my back.

I just did some digging, and apparently the ability to decline payment does still exist. @twinner helped @uwelang to find it. You now have to go into settings and essentially change it there, rather than have the option on each post. Which I guess avoids the potential of doing it by accident? Anyway, the option is still there, just a little more hidden.

Busy still has it front and center. :) And you can do it for comments, too.

hmmm... You are pretty good at finding cool things... I can't imagine wanting to not get paid except for a post like this... And yes I was happy to get it paid and out of my wallet... That is too much money sitting around... and I certainly wanted it to go to the place where it was intended!

I figured someone had posted about it. I just ran a Google search and happened to get lucky because usually it takes much more digging or else I end up on unrelated tangents.

I think it mainly exists for steemitblog, ned, and other Steemit related folks, along with higher SP users who are making some kind of community announcement. And I would suppose the kind you just made would be appropriate too. The problem I see now with it not being available via the post page is that I'd easily forget from one day to the next that I switched it to decline pay, and then end up sending out a post that I very much wanted payment for.

Better just to leave it on the 50/50 split. :)

lol.... me too :P

true that :)

Okay, so it looks like they took it off the post page, but left it or moved it (not remembering which) to the settings page where it's not nearly as convenient but harder to do by accident? Who knows. :)

I never even knew it was there :P ... :)

Well it doesn't matter anymore :P

thank to both you and @glenalbrethsen ... for teaching me there was something from the past...

I like hearing new things, even if they are over! :P

I didn't know that... I have never done it, does it block the upvote button?

I know you said to NOT upvote... but as previously discussed, I’m a rule breaker. 😉

lol... I remember... Maybe I should've said "everyone but PD shouldn't upvote, but PD definitely HAS TO"... :P

Good to see you PD.... I think Jeff is looking very confident these days since he is the face of your profile!

I’ll tell Jeff you said so. 😻 All the best to your Señor Dave!

That was such an amazing and generous thing you did for them... and what a beautiful outpouring of support from the community.

That's one of the beautiful things about this Community. My Human says he's seen the community rally around those in desperate need, over and over again... quite unlike any other place online!

=^..^=

I agree @curatorcat! You said it exactly how I feel! :) And you can tell your human that his observation skills are very good and I agree with his analysis too :P

It was a great job buddy, you have a great heart, blessings will fall from the sky for you and health for Brian.

Thank you @melvadg! I was really happy that Brian and Lynn got such a warm outpouring of affection! I am of course happy he got his meds too, but it was nice to see everyone rally behind him! :)

You did a great job @davemccoy.

thank you for your kind words @amelin!

I just wanted to thank you for the newbieresteem post some how it linked me back to you i hope your the right person to thank🌺 sending you so much aloha. It was my jewelry blog and in the top 10 newbies page. Hope this makes sense lol

Yes that was me :) .... I remember that you had a rough start, but you have found your way here now! I'm happy to see it @aloha-creations! :)

You just received a Tier 0 upvote! Looking for bigger rewards? Click here and learn how to get them or visit us on Discord

It’s very honorable what you did here. Great Job. Also, just noticed that your posts, even if you say not to upvote, get more upvotes and cash then my posts when I’m begging for a cent. Lol

thank you @sunnyego... :)

And regarding the upvotes on my post, some of them are because people follow me on a curation trail or because I belong to different membership clubs. So it isn't as much as you think, and over time you will also join these clubs and get people trailing you too! :)
