Hey my incredibly awesome steemit friends, hope you're Friday is as fantastic as you are!

I know the platform is not what it once was, but I'm super grateful so many amazing people are still pressing on. The world is changing in a big way, but as history has shown us over and over, people tend to drag their feet when it comes to big change, because change takes us out of our comfort zones, and most people do not like being uncomfortable.

Steemians however, are not most people, we are the progressive, the dreamers, the inventors, explorers and adventurers! We may be few but we are mighty!

We are only at the cusp of the digital age- and as the world evolves we need to evolve with it or get left behind.

I'm speaking from my own recent experience.

Some of you know that my hubs and I have been running a wholesale grapevine business for almost twenty years. For those who don't- basically vineyards need their crops to be trimmed from the wires and the vines removed in winter to make room for new growth. We provide that service for free in exchange for taking the vines with us to our shop where we make them into 12 inch cuttings and sell them to tree nurseries- who then replant them, grow roots, and sell them to the public.

This business has been our primary income for the entirety of our adult lives- and while we suspected there would come a day where advancements in technology would render this service obsolete, I have to admit we did not expect it to begin happening so soon. But this year our biggest nursery purchased a machine run by a computer that can turn the vines into cuttings- long story short our orders were dropped down to a quarter of what they were before.

We could have chosen to lament this loss, to rant and rave and wail at the "injustice" of it all, buttt...that's not our style.

We're solution oriented individuals, and what exactly would that solve?

So we improvise, adapt, and overcome -

-and one of the things we are doing to mitigate this loss is jumping on the YouTube bandwagon with a guerrilla style beer review:

Computers may be able to replace many things, but there is no substitute for divinely inspired human creativity.

Hehe, great stuff. I have subscribed and watched!

I knew I could count on you me boom! We needed to get our feet wet, but we already have an assistant brewmaster and a hops farmer waiting in the wings for interviews- when I get just a wee bit more experience behind the cameras- and while being in front of the camera is not daunting to Howie, he's not yet entirely comfortable but it won't take long :)

It won't take long at all lass. The more is done the easier it gets and it sounds like you are totally on the right track!! Get on the twitter's and start following the beer fuckers and cross posting your links there

Ahh technology. Takes away jobs and creates new opportunities...if you know how to spot them which most don't XD

Good luck with the Youtube bandwagon!

So true! Thanks!
