Lucy and the Christmas Tree (2018), and a Blast from Steemit Christmas Past! (2016)
I grew up with a mom who had an eye for Christmas trees, one that I developed myself after years of looking at them- and now since my mom has turned to fake trees in her later years it has fallen to me to carry on the tradition of The Perfect Tree.
We went a teensy bit tall this year, not enough room to place the star- but with the perfect tree, the shape of it is most important- and I nailed it if I do say so (I do say so ;)
Because my two stepsons and their families along with my daughter are now in the south, I was a bit short on those who could pose for me...so it fell to Lucy--
who was a bit bewildered by my insistence that she sit right there, hee
But she does make a fine model, doesn't she?
There will be more Christmas posts to come I'm sure, between events with mom (the next couple weekends) and my brother...but also we will be travelling to Charleston South Carolina to be with the kids for Christmas week. (Hoping next year they'll miss snow enough to come our way ;)
I recalled that I made a post not long after joining steemit two years ago which contained my Christmas tree of that year- I'd completely forgotten that I documented the entire Holiday Season in a poem/song, hee. As I went through it there were a few tears for my dad, as this will be the first Christmas without him.

Holidays with me and mine,
lots of laughter
LOTS of wine!
Dancing, singing, merrily
lighting up the Christmas tree
Parties at the home of Bro
and snuggling under Mistletoe.
Dinner at my dad and mom's
oh dinner at my childhood home.
I gained fifteen by Christmas day
so for the New Year I will pay.
When everywhere cookies and fudge
Who can blame me? Who can judge?
The presents are under the tree
we're waiting for the Terror Three.
When they get here they will destroy
my house with gleeful impish joy.
But they're so cute I must ignore
the great big mess upon my floor
The holidays with me and mine...
are crazy, lovely and divine!!
Aww, my niece, she was only a couple weeks old there, now she's almost two years old and talking up a storm- time really does fly!

It makes me happy to see everyone! Lucy is a good sport, now she'll fully expect to find a package under the tree with her name on it.
It made me happy too! Especially Ethan and Zoe just a couple years younger and more kiddish, ha.

It is! Mama dreemit was enamored with it last night when I had her to dinner, wanted to do everything in the living room so she could be near it lol. It will be strange- but since we'll be in South Carolina for the day and the days surrounding it- Zoe, gotta have my Zoe at Christmas- it will take some of the sting I think. xo

Well, I have never been to Charleston which is a historic city, so there is definitely that! Ha, I'll pretend that's the main reason, and not to be with my girl, the boys, and the trio of hellions, whom I don't miss at all (lies ;)

I've never seen a real tree up close because all we ever get here are the plastic kind. Looks like the Dreem Team is in for another epic holiday! Have a safe trip to the Carolinas, sis!

I imagine it would be super expensive to import pine trees just for an occasion, but they have some very realistic plastic ones these days :)
Hellz yeah! We won't be leaving until I think the 22nd of December.
Our 22nd is jam-packed as well! Something about the last weekend before the big holiday perhaps.
The tree is awesome! Not just the perfect shape, but the abundance of decorations and the lights - just wonderful. x
