Don't Put All Your Eggs In One Basket

Today you had the proof that life goes on without Steemit, you just have to know how to live it.

Steemit.com has been subjected to a sustained DDoS attack that brought down the website for roughly 25 minutes earlier today. The Steemit Team is working to mitigate the attack, but steemit.com is still experiencing intermittent outages.

Condenser Split?

The outages are unrelated to any recent changes that were applied to steemit.com. The DDoS attack only affected the steemit.com website. The blockchain was unaffected, and other websites that interact with the blockchain have remained operational during the attack.

We will do our best to keep you informed as the situation unfolds.

The above post has been published by @steemitblog and unless you're living under the rock, you've already noticed that steemit.com is/was down. Yes, (4 letter word) happens all the time! Who said life is fair, right?

Even though steemit, com is down, life goes on on the steem blockchain, you can still do your thing, you just have to know how.

eSteem was fully functional busy.org was fully functional and maybe Partiko as well, I don't use it but others can confirm it, or not.

Some users tent to be attached to one dapp, which is good, loyalty is a nice thing but in cases like this, you need a backup plan, if you want to go on.

Witnesses and dapps make it possible for us to continue our work on the Steem blockchain. This is why we need to support them.

So please select the maximum number of witnesses, which is 30, and start voting for them. If you don't know how to vote, ask for help. If you don't know who to vote, you can set a proxy that will vote for you or ask for help but don't be ignorant, they need our support!

Thank you.

Thanks for this post. I have pretty much ditched SteemIt.com after the last interface revamp (it looked like a downgrade to me). I have mostly used Busy.org and eSteem and when these two fail, I turn to SteemPeak.com.

Nevertheless, yesterday I had some trouble with all of them. Looks like things aren't so decentralised as we think. But we're heading there...

About the witnesses, I find it very important that people vote accordingly to the work that Witnesses do on the platform, but also take a time to check the comments made by the Witnesses, because as some of us know, some Witnesses seem to be pretty cool for the projects they support but if you check their comments, you'll see that they are arrogant, condescending and even rude to nearly everyone who dares to think different.

Personally, I cannot support a Witness that helps some people while attacking a lot of others at the same time. Consistency is the key, for me. And moral integrity.

I guess it'll take some time till things go back to normal, I'm not using steemit for posting anyway.
I agree with you about voting for witness and that's why we have to help those who are new or don't have a clue about the whole witness thing. I had a post about this The Ugly Truth
