We are not idiots, it's just the jet lag

You're always faced with "jet lag" when your life undergoes great changes.

For example, you said: "I leave work at the office and I'll knit a cool sweaters to order."

After that, you even wrote a step by step plan and a clear guide to action.

Or you think: "I'll leave this goddamn city, and I will dwell in the mountains / on a wild coast of the sea. I'm going to weave a basket from rattan and live happily."

It's funny, but we always expect that when moving from point a to point B, we simply find ourselves at the point B. As if we are a line on paper. Been here suddenly shifted over there.

But man is not an organized object, he does not want to obey the rules that are relevant to the line.

Physically being "here", the person may for a long time to be "somewhere in the past" or even somewhere else.

By the way, I do not mean the difficulties everyone faces when developing something new: a new area of the city when you move, a new profession or a new relationship. These difficulties are so obvious and expected that talking about them makes no sense.

I'm talking about the inevitable times of stress and disorientation, which happens even if you know where you came and what you were doing.

Jet lag does not depend on how perfectly you are aware of the peculiarities of the country in which landed. It happens with smart and stupid. It depends on how fast and how long distance you have moved.

Therefore, if you have done with your life some kind of abrupt change and go lost don't understand nothing. This is normal.

You're not an idiot, it's just the jet lag. Give yourself time to ground.

I never thought about this before but you make a good point it also explains why people feel uncomfortable with even thinking about change and enjoy their routines and hold onto them for dear life

That process of acclimatization is so awful in their minds they would rather run the same rat race than face up to it

I totally agree!
Previously, I was also afraid of these sensations. This "itch" from fear and stress literally prevented me from living and living normally and I could not find the reason.
But if you think about it, this is just a process of "getting used to", nothing more and it does not carry anything terrible in itself. This moment, like all others in our lives, you just need to survive. But the changes in life that follow him will be worth it. At least I always think so. Because without change and development there is no life itself.
