Steemmonsters - More than Just a Game?

in #life5 years ago

We're but a few short hours away from one of the most exciting events to take place on the Steem blockchain. The release of the highly anticipated Steemmonsters digital card game. Before today, it was all simply a case of collecting as well as buying and selling individual cards you may have missed out on. However that all changes pretty soon. And I would even go as far as to view this as a historical milestone within the history of the Steem blockchain.

So far, Dapps are proving to be an exceptionally successful formula in regards to stating great use-case precedents for our blockchain. We've got the fantastic Dtube for video blogging, some excellent mobile variants for Steemit (Partiko and eSteem) and now here comes the first gamification based product for Steem. Damn, are things progressing like wildfire or what! What all these incredible pieces of code showcase is but a tiny segment of what's in store for the future. Their success with the community at large can potentially prove to be perfect examples to boast of what is capable for the Steem blockchain. The vision of where we are headed is clear as day and one I'm mega excited to be a part of.

The business model aspect of Steem hasn't even been tapped into properly yet, with the team consisting of @aggroed and @yabapmatt getting proceedings off to a magnificent start. It's imperative to get things "right" from here on in and demonstrate to the masses who are not on Steemit yet, that we are a tangible force to be reckoned with. The game of Steemmonsters seems to have ticked so many crucial check boxes that I'm still astounded at how organically the whole package has come together thus far. If ever there was a time for the Steem token to shine, it is right now. And you can bet your bottom dollar that marketing will commence soon after the implementation of SMT's so it's an extremely wise decision to start so early on. The overriding objective for all of us as a collective is to see mass adoption take hold of the Steem blockchain. But that will only come to fruition if we have enough incentives to attract them here. And damn, are we on the right track for that to happen! I see things only getting better and more improved after today. Don't listen to the mountains of bullshit people spew out when talking this blockchain down. There's a much bigger play going on in the background and trust me when I say it'll benefit you greatly to be a part of it.

But onto the main focus of the day, Steemmonsters. I've already stocked up on quite a few cards but not to the degree I would have liked. It seems that all money you invest either here on any other endeavour in life, is classified an "opportunity cost". That said, I've still got enough to be able to play and enjoy the game with you guys. I'm sure they'll already be several pro players scattered about the place so I'm ready to take a whuppin' in the beginning stages. But hey, getting beat means you've got some practising to do. And no doubt, "that" is already a given... :)

Surprised no one commented on this post.

Checked out the battles so far but didn't participate. My cards suck anyways. You're right on the money. Steemmonsters was put together brilliantly from the start and checked off everything a successful project should -- two way communication, functional engagement opportunity, and obviously the need for something to collect while 'playing steemit'.

I'm not a huge rpg player but I'm a big fan of the ability to send the cards as gifts to random people. New users, birthday kids, abuse reporters and so forth. Meant to do a huge giveaway with the 100 pack earlier this summer but the witness failed to generate the blocks to make it affordable, had to put it off. Regretting it some now that the battles launched.

Thanks for being the first to comment, lol! Sorry, I just noticed it now. But yeah, it can get pretty hectic out there on the battlefield but I'm very impressed by this first iteration we've been presented with. Single player campaign and prize tournaments are on their way soon, which should catapult the enthusiasm factor to the next level.

Here's to hoping, buddy. :)
