How Old Are You

I don't know about the rest of the world, but a lot of people are shy/scared to say it allowed and the others can't wait to brag about their age because you should listen to them. Well I'm asking you, how old are you?

Advancement in age is seen as a sign of maturity in most cultures but recent trends have come to prove that age is just a number. You can be old and be young at heart, and you can be young in age but very mature. So is age just a number, or does it have an impact in our lives?

Well I believe age is just a number. Grey hair doesn't necessarily mean someone is mature or old in the head. Being old doesn't mean you are wiser than the younger generation, sometimes you are just accorded the respect because you've spent more years here on earth.

In Ghana where I come from, when you get into an argument with an old person, expect to loose because the odds are against you. It doesn't matter whether you are in the right or wrong. It is deemed very disrespectful to insinuate that an older person could be wrong. It is also said, even if an older person is wrong, you don't tell it to their face.

I watch some western movies and I see kids talk to adults anyhow and I just say in my head, you can't do this in Ghana. You can talk to your parent anyhow and even if your parent(s) do nothing about it, a neighbour could give you an ass whopping you would never forget.

Whatever your age is, see it as an advantage. Old people wish they were young, and the young generation wish they were older; what a world! Mankind (Women included) is just confused. However old you are, learn to enjoy your age. You make your age, your age doesn't make you.

If you are young and talk with wisdom, adults will listen to you and if you are old and yet talk like a child, even children wouldn't want to hear from me. You can decide to live the way you want by your attitude, and not by your birth certificate. As I end, I ask again; how old are you?
