The right mentality a worker should have.

We all want to be a boss of our own, to be an entrepreneur and run our personal business. The truth is that not all of us would end up been an entrepreneur, at least if it a goal (a future aim to be an entrepreneur) then one time or the other it is likely to find ourselves working under someone even if it for a period of time.

There are ways by which a worker should relate to his/her employer. It is not a good thing to work with a carefree attitude simply because the business is not ours. There are many workers that earn more than most glorified entrepreneur, they are able to achieve this feat because of their usefulness to the company of their employers.
This post is directed to people working under another and showing a negative attitude to the job. The post is to make them know that the more the keep up the unhealthy attitude the more likely it is to be laid-off.
A worker is someone who is gainfully employed by an entrepreneur (employers) performs a particular task or labour in an enterprise (industrial/manual labour) with the aim of been paid in wages or salary depending on the agreement with the employer.

There are ways by which a worker can be an invaluable asset to the employer, making him/her useful for the boss and also paving way for the time where he/she would become a boss.

  1. Create a new source of making money for your employer: It is true that a worker is employed to perform a task in a company. But it takes someone with the right mentality to talk with the boss and share new ideas on how to make for money for the company. Workers like this are assets to the company, and would be treated as such. Their relevance would make them valuable.
  2. Think like an entrepreneur: been a worker is not an excuse to not think like an entrepreneur, in fact it makes the job easier and also serves as a nursery for when the time comes to own a business. This keeps the mind exercised because the mind is not restricted, it is been allowed to think outside the box. This makes the worker valuable to the company as such a worker would manage little d sources to produce larger output.
  3. Think for your employer: This follows thinking like an entrepreneur. As a worker is maximizing his/her resource to perform at the optimum level, it is also advisable to anticipate what the boss would want. This means not waiting for orders on little things before they are done, think ahead and solve the problem at hand.
  4. Save money: workers do like to waste the resources of the company based on the fact that it is not theirs. This is a bad mentality, the right one should be finding ways of maintaining them to ensure the company saves some money on that.

These four ways are just few among many, but they are the fundamental things worker should know how to do. It places them on the good books an the company, making them the last persons to be laid off if such situation arises. And it also serves as a training ground as to when such worker would deem it fit to become a boss of his/her own.
As it is been said >the measurement you used for others shall be used for you!
