Café at the End of the World: Atlas Mountains Gringo Track.
Even though Marrakech is without a doubt cool place, sometimes trip to the mountains helps to maintain clear mind in this somewhat busy city.
Avoiding the tourist trap agencies, we decide to make the trip on our own and rent a car for a day. The road leads us to the nearby Atlas mountains to Imlil village.
It's Himalayan sharm is obvious on the first sight. Local settlement is offering their best to satisfy tourist demanding various activities like hiking and climbing. We are escaping the crowds on our way to the unknown and stick with a road going further to the wilderness.
The highest café in the Atlas mountains awaits us already.
It's terrace survived a lot already and we try to sit calmly on our chairs to avoid further damage.
The taste of caffe there is compensated with the unusual, almost surreal views.
After the café break we continued further up the road which was less and less suitable for our vehicle.
After a few steep curves Berber villages are appearing from behind the hills and we encounter locals as proper gringos in a car and are lucky not get a stone thrown into the window from the angry kids. But the views are worth the trouble.
After all it's still Morroco that lives up to it's reputation as scetchy location.
