Do We Really Need Phones?!

in #life5 years ago

Many things have changed in the last year. After having phones in our homes and work places, we started using mobile phones. But this piece of luxury that everyone of us owns can be useful or create trouble. “I messaged you and you ignored me” or “I called you and your phone was off”. By owning a cellphone you are indirectly forced to answer every call and message. There is no way to escape this, unless you start using two phone (Family and Friends + Work). When you go out with friends to have dinner or a cup of coffee, you will look weird if you dont check your phone every 15 minutes.

If we look at the most things we have in the world of electronics we, realize that we don’t actually need them. They just make life easier or slightly more comfortable. But in the same time more complicated. We might ask ourselves if we need cellphones! People pay thousand if not millions of dollars every year to buy the latest phones. We might need the app like Whats aap, Facebook, Line etc... Then we ask ourselves if we want to make expensive phone calls or just use these free apps to connect with everyone. Even big companies started using Skype, Whats aap and Facebook to connect with their clients for free.

Finally we need phones to connect with people, but how long will it take to stop making expensive phone calls. And how long the phone companies will survive is just a matter of time...

The good phone companies have adapted and diversified and have actually driven the technological advances since the dawn of mobiles. Back in 1996, I left British Telecom after 13 years. They restructured and my very specialised skillset became obsolete and I didnt have the heart or intelligence to change with the times.
The phone companies will always be here, BT is stronger and better now than then, but only if they visionary management in charge.

Well they need to work hard and be up to date, otherwise they wont have any chance against the big competition. And we dont know what the future will still bring to us!

The cell phone is a great tool. But I only have a flip phone and only turn it on when I need to. These smart phones are addicting just like video games were. Just another thing to occupy our time till we die.

And thats what the governments want us to do. Keep playing and not interfere in their business :D
