I did not realize these facts but appreciate you sharing them. Crazy to consider the importance of their place in history and what culture brings to the table and they are not more visible due to the biases that exist today.
They are virtually invisible in the US, and even though the UN has acknowledge human rights issues, they are also invisible around most of the world. At the same time, they are also very secretive, due to how much they have been taken advantage of and deceived. I've been trying to get a project going to bring a group onto Steemit, but the councils so far have not agreed to allow it. They don't think visibility helps them. And I'm sure that once it didn't. But times are changing, and if no one knows of their suffering, it is likely to only get worse. People need to galvanize the support of allies in other communities, and these days I believe that support can be found.
thank you for sharing about this! it is too often a forgotten (or shoved under a rug?) history. what is known as the united states was indeed not unpeopled... and had vibrant nations as you say. much love to indigenous peoples and support in all realms! i think also studying the history is one way to honor them.
Yes, telling their stories honors them. And showing them that it is safe to show themselves now.
Many incongruities exist not only in the USA all over the world as well, we say something but we act differently, we demand but we do not give in return. I try to be the opposite. first give and then receive and do and then say. 😥
Yes, it is like this all over the world, truly. That's a good point about doing and then saying! Maybe speak it first as a prayer, then put that prayer into action with inspiration fueling you, then you can let people know what you've done to inspire them for what they can do too.

There are a lot of plains Indians where I live. Yes, the US government has almost killed off the indigenious people, so sad.
It's incredibly sad. I hope to be able to apply some little bandaid on the problem if I can get my Native steemit project going, but first I have to get them to trust me after all the deception and exploitation they've faced.
It is indeed sad story which repeat itself in all the part of our World. Indigenous people robbed of their land and not treated with any dignity, left abandoned and looked away from. I hope we can change this. I'm sorry for this to have happend. All the strengt to you indigenous people around the world.
It is indeed a global problem. I’m not really indigenous myself, though I do have a little Native ancestry, but this is a litmus test for all people. How do we treat the conquered? That says a lot about who we are.

Yeah, I'm part Cherokee and Blackfoot. It is hard to live basically in camps within someone else's country.
