Movie Review: The Kissing Booth

Most Millenials are aware and have watched the famous Netflix Film titled The Kissing Booth. And I'm here to talk about what I loved about this movie (not that there's something I hated about it because it lived up to my expectations) and why I think it has become a major and surprise hit.

The story revolves around bestfriends Elle Evans and Lee Flynn who's been with each other since they were a child. Literally childhood bestfriends. They were able to form a strong bond throughout the years and have been for each other through thick and thin. They witnessed each other's most remarkable moments in life. Furthermore, they set rules that they should abide in order to keep their friendship intact. Eversince they didn't have a problem following those rules. Until Lee's smoking hot brother came on the scene. Elle never thought she would fall for Noah Flynn. No one could blame her because he was extremely attractive. But she couldn't like him. She could never be romantically involved with her bestfriend's brother because that's one of rules they made.

The plot was pretty simple, and yes, cliché. But what made it extra special was how they delivered it in such a beautiful and addictive way. It was quite predictable but I loved how the story unfolds and how the casts slayed their respective roles. This movie would take you back to your younger days, the beauty and the innocence of going crazy over your first crush or falling in love for the first time. It would make you feel giddy. But most of all, it would remind you of how much you should value real friendship. Spoiler alert: Lee and Elle remained bestfriends until the end. Which is really good. I'm glad it didn't turn into bestfriends-falling-for-each-other kind of movie. Instead it showed how friends should love, accept and support each other's decisions.

If you haven't watch this movie yet, then you're surely way behind the trend. Seriously. You should try to watch it especially if you're into romantic-comedies. It's cheesy but not too cheesy. Romantic and filled with so much lessons. Sparkled with heart-fluttering scenes, The Kissing Booth is a movie that would surely earn a good spot on your list of Favorite Romantic Films.
