What is Disruptive Thinking?

Disruptive thinking is beyond a concept, It is an ideology, a way of seeing things, a mentality. And this ideology needs to be inculcated into young ones by their parents right from childhood.

How can we inculcate the Disruptively Thinking Ideology into our children?

Present them with problems maybe via games, toys e.t.c depending on their ages and leave them to come up with strategies to solve them. It will get their curious and inquisitive mind to work. By so doing, you're building their analytical and problem solving abilities. As they grow older, parents should also try to compound these 'problems'.

For me, a child's first exposure to Disruptive Thinking should come from this parents. Once the parents set that foundation a right, then the child begins to look at every challenge and problem faced by his society with a problem solving mentality and that is the true ingredient of the development of any nation. The Nigerian school system as we have it don't teach disruptive thinking in their lecture rooms neither is there a provision for them in our curricula. The closest we've gotten is Case Studies and this in itself isn't enough to initiate the Disruptive Thinking Process.

Is it realistic to expect disruptive thinking from everyone?

Everybody and I repeat, everyone has the capacity to think disruptively. Disruptive thinking is all about creating solutions to serve your market better or do your business better. It is what gives you an edge over competition. So, everyone has the capacity to think disruptively but the issue is that, we are too used to the status quo and the conventional way of doing things around here. Many of us are not willing to think outside the box and that is why, it seems disruptive thinking is hard work to many people
