#LivingElSalvador. Enjoying Our Grain-Fed ROOSTER Soup.

First thing in the morning today, we killed one of our roosters, since we have too many and they keep on fighting non stop. It is still pretty hard for us to do the killing even though that is why we raise the chickens and roosters for some fresh, organic, natural, grain-fed chickens.
But when the roosters are not really good for anything else and just keep on fighting, we thought it's time to enjoy some good fresh soup.

We had to boil a pot of hot water to apply on the rooster and soak it's feathers so that they come out nice and easy.


Next step was to burn the rooster's skin with some fire to burn all the remaining hairs and whatever is left on the skin.


Now it's time to cut the rooster and start cleaning it all up.


We decided to make some delicious soup with all kinds of veggies (two types of squash, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, loroco, green pepper etc.) and then I took the rooster out of the soup and put it on the pan and cooked it some more on the pan with some extra spices.

The rooster was a young rooster so he was not very fat but very, very tasty.

Nothing tastes so good like a fresh organic chicken/rooster soup with some chicen/rooster on the side and some freshly made tortillas and some freshly squeezed lemonade.
I must say that I was really impressed with the results and so was everyone else.

All this work is well worth it and you really appreciate the food you eat so much better when some work is put into it and you know what you are eating and with the best smell and taste.

It is always had to keep an animal you have bonded with even though they are meant for eating. Anyway the food looks delicious.

You can also try cooking it with ginger and putting some chili pepper leaves for a soup.
Or with coconut cream but parboiling it first with ginger too, goes well with rice ;)

Yes. We love it with some chili peppers but never tried with chili pepper leaves.
Thanks for those great tips and I will definitely try it out with ginger next time, since I have never before and it sounds really delicious and ginger is super healthy too.

Our rooster also ended up in a soup because he started to get very aggressive and my mom was scared he was going to attack my niece or nephew.

I like the variety of veggies you put in the soup and also putting meat in the pan with all the spices must be delicious.
