Is your mind in the gutter

in #life6 years ago

here is your quick help guide to remedy the problem

After a particularly long, cold and stormy winter.. our minds quickly shift from the inner depths to the outdoors. Maybe you can relate to this sentiment, but not just to smell the fresh air or soak in the sun. No you need to get out of the house to assess the wear and tear or damages the wicked winter brangeth!

Howling winds, heavy snow and rains can take their toll on your shelter and biggest investment (black hole if you rather). Did the shingles hold up... are they even there anymore??

Well what about those gutters, did the weight of the snow and ice rip them from your castle? Did they back up and cause ice heaves in the eves allowing some of those foul elements into your sanctuary?

Well time to put your mind in the gutter

No this is not what the average person enjoys or even wants to do. But it just gotta be done to save your peace of mind later.

Well who would have know that putting your mind in the gutters would involve so many choices, challenges and confusion. With so many choices I thought I would save you a bit of time so that you could once again get your mind out of the gutter and into the oh so short bliss of beautiful weather.

Aluminum - Cheap, but you get what you pay for. They need the most maintenance with cleaning, caulking and corrosion... the metal expands, contracts and therefore cracks... if you are in a cold place get your mind out of this gutter.

Vinyl - Cheap... no that’s not in reference to the birds outside, these are the least expensive gutters which give them the great appeal. They don’t need panting or face corrosion, but in that cold they can crack and cost you more in the long run... and you should get your mind out of this gutter as well.

Steel - Strong, just like the name suggests... so it can bear the weight of heavy snow with minimal cost. They can rust a bit in certain climates... so careful stepping into this gutter.

Copper - Is expensive but ultimately more durable as well as lower in maintenance. Over time, copper gutters develop a special lining (and cool coloration), that protects them from rust and other potentially harmful elements. This includes algae and fungi growth, so blockages, with their related cleaning and maintenance expenses, will be significantly reduced.

Sometimes putting your mind in the gutter is necessary, might as well be the right one.
