Womp, Wooooomp! He Did it Again (Korean Fiasco, Part II)
As an update to yesterday's post about the Trump-induced Korean nuclearization fiasco (read it HERE), Trump has reacted as expected. Here is this morning's tweet about his incredulity on how things are transpiring:
There's an old saying in poker: “If you look around the table and can't tell who the sucker is, it's you. YOU are the sucker.” This saying defines Trump's foreign policy approach perfectly.
To think that “handshake” deals are binding in international politics is not only stoooooopid, it is incredibly dangerous. We don't even know what Trump thinks the deal was, as there is no record of it. That's why educated, trained and professional diplomats hammer these agreements out over months and years of careful negotiations. Each point being painstakingly reviewed over and over and over again, until it is clear that everybody is on the same page. To think that the world's problems can be solved by two guys who meet for a few hours over tea and cake is so unbelievable, it's hard for me to believe that it is true.
Yet, this is our reality. For now.
Look for the same kind of Kindergarten Diplomacy to come from the Trump-Putin meeting later this month. Hopefully, Trump doesn't sell Putin the codes to America's nuclear arsenal, for the promise that Trump can put a hotel across the street from Kremlin. Sound ridiculous? Maybe. But you can't say it's out of the realm of possibility. Not anymore.
Congrats Trump... you did it again!
While you were on his twitter did you watch the video he posted yesterday?
yeah, you need a cartoonish misspelled button right?
