Lots of Treats

Kids will knock on every door in the neighbourhood regardless of whether your house is dark and silent or lighted like a beacon bidding them to come a-calling.

What kiddies want when they come with their big baskets or pails are your treats. At the end of their adventure, they are going to brag about their big haul.

It's so sad when they knock on some door only to be told by the person behind that door that they are not celebrating Halloween and have no treats to offer.

Of course, there is no need for you to be concerned that the kiddies are exposed to the elements in the dark. It would be cold and unsafe. What parents let their kiddies roam around by themselves? Parents usually drive the kiddies around. They will chaperone their toddlers to the door and for the older kiddies, parents hang back discreetly for the children to do their thing.

Your office would also not be spared. Halloween is not just confined to the night. They may come knocking there during the day too. If you are not prepared to welcome unexpected callers, offering an apple would be a good enough gesture!

When we look at the kiddo's haul, there were all kinds of candy, a one-pound Hershey chocolate bar and even a money envelope containing twenty bucks!
