Wheel Throwing Experience

It was the kiddo's no school day as he goes to nursery class only three days a week. My daughter was thinking of a leisurely brunch at her favourite breakfast place when she suddenly remembered that that day was the husband's birthday.

Panic mode; she had not bought any present and absolutely no idea what to get at all. She then recalled that she had a pottery gift certificate someone gave her last Christmas. She called the store and thankfully the nice lady was free to give her a pottery lesson.

So off she went together with the kiddo in tow. She also paid for the kiddo to enjoy an hour of wheel throwing experience. It was like killing two birds with one stone. The both of them could each make something for the man of the house and he would certainly appreciate the fruit of their hard labour.

They had a fabulous time messing and shaping the clay on the potter's wheel. With limited time and instruction, they could only create a little vase and a mini bowl. The kiddo was estatic that he made a 'special' bowl.

Then the nice lady delivered the disappointing news. Mother and son could only collect their masterpieces two weeks later as the items had to be fired in the store's kiln first and then glazed!

At home, she declared that there was a slight confusion and promised her husband that he would be absolutely touched when he eventually receives his belated Birthday presents.
