The boiling frog.. What do you know about it?

in #life5 years ago (edited)

The boiling frog is a fable describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death.

A simple interpretation...
If you drop a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will jump out immediately. but if you put a frog in warm water and put it on top of a slow burning fire, the frog won't jump out because it doesn't perceive any threat or danger. It will continue adjusting to the increase in temperature until the water boils and kills it.

What's the moral of this fable?
There's something to be learned here...

A lot of people will respond immediately something bad or dangerous happens to them. When those things were happening gradually, they ignored it until it got out of hand. They will stay in it until it totally destroys them and everything they stand for

It's not the big things that Mar or destroy us, its actually the little things that we overlook. We allow it to grow bigger overtime.

You can change your life
Don't let your life deteriorate overtime
Instead, let it grow overtime
