HOW WE SAVE OUR NOODLE BEAN SEEDS (SHORT VIDEO)

in #life5 years ago

I felt like making a short video out of the harvest photos I recently took.

This video is actually just a short collection of photos that show the basic way we save our Chinese Red Noodle Bean seeds. The Little-Peppers like to help with things like this, so we break up the dried pods and slide the good seeds over to Buddy-Pepper who puts them in the jar for us. From that little two year old on up, everybody helps, and these are the ones that we are offering for sale in our store too!

Once again, beautiful post and beautiful family. Your blog reminds me how much my family and I wish to have land here in Suriname so we can farm again one day.

Perhaps see if a local landowner with unused soil would allow you to grow some food on it, and then share with them. Lots of folks in different areas work out some pretty good, beneficial arrangements like that. Glad that you enjoyed it! Be Blessed!

Yeah, that's on out to-do list in the near future if we secure our visas. I don't think that's an impossible goal, the language barrier being more of a problem than someone willing to split proceeds from farming. We mostly regret we didn't bring seeds from Cambodia. We have so many immigration issues we didn't want to bring anything biological with us. There are only 4 or 5 varieties of leafy greens here, and in Cambodian every village has about 200 or 300. We miss our SE Asian leafy greens.

I have so many memories shelling peas and snapping beans around the kitchen table.

Good memories.
