J.G. Holland was an American writer.
He studied medicine and practiced for several years as a doctor in Springfield (Massachusetts), in order then to leave completely to his already earlier active inclination to literary occupation.
Back from a trip to Europe in 1869, he took over the publication of Scribner's Monthly Magazine in 1870.
