Celebrating 197 years

Today in Costa Rica and other Central American countries we celebrate the independence from Spain. Its been almost 200 years living free, independent and with all the troubles, issues and problems that it carries. Today, we are celebrating to be free but on the other hand there is a country wide strike to avoid paying more taxes in a new law that they want to approve as soon as possible. Nicaragua is currently living the 3rd month of protests against a government that is not thinking in favor of its people but pretty much doing the same thing that this 'rebels' fought for when they managed to get in power almost 30 years ago. Central american countries have faced many issues from civil wars, poverty and invasions from other countries. The left and the right political sides found their battleground and spread the blood of many people just to see who we are friends with. Today, most of the problems come from the same issue, drugs trafficking activities and the violence that it involves. Every year Costa Rica and Panama governments join together to fight, catch and destroy tones of cocaine and it is just growing every year. Freedom is way to far as there is always that keep us away from the goal I hope I had something more positive to say but until every country develops its own way to produce, generate income and be sustainable there is no freedom to be proud of.
