Derivation of the name of "Cricket"

In the early times, it was spelled as creckett. The name was derived from the Middle dutchKrick meaning stick. The Sport Cricket has a known History in the late 16th century. The sport has originated from south-east England. After two centuries it became the countries national sport and after that was played worldwide in 19th and 20th century. Then this sport became so famous that international matches were being played. Since 1844 International matches were played and around 1877 Test matches were played. Cricked is the worlds second most popular game after football. Cricket game was playwd by the children's for many generations before it was taken up by adults.

18th Century Cricket

First famous clubs were London and Dartford in the early 18th century. It was in this century that cricket faced its first crisis during the seven years War. This happened because of lack of investment and shortage of players, But the game survived.

In 19th century

Cricket faced another major crisis during Napoleonic Wars. Again there was shortage of the players and lack of involvement. the game survived and recovery began in 1815.

In 20th century

The ICC (IMPERIAL CRICKET CONFERENCE) was founded in1909, At that time only England, Australia and South Africa were members. West indies became member in 1928,New Zealand became member in 1930,And india became member in 1932. these became Test nations before world war II While Pakistan in 1952 soon afterwards.

In june 2001, the ICC introduced a Test Championship Table and, in October 2002, a One-day International championship Table.
