Why optimists and pessimists are equally useful

In our society people always have an opinion. Many of us view optimism as the reason for a persons success. In fact, whenever scientists try to discern which trait is responsible mostly for a persons succes it is this one. Don’t take my word for it tough, have a go on the web and see if I’m right!

Anyway, that leaves the pessimists to think about. What do they do? Apart from being so darn negative on the outlook all the time. As a pessimist for a long time I am biased for this point of view, please know that, but I still find us useful in the strongest of ways.

One of which is that we will see the threats. We will be prepared for when the worst occurrences come to pass. We will prepare the (proverbial) parachute as seen in the accompanying motivational picture
