Forgiveness To All

"To err is human..." - [Popular adage]

To everything, there are procedures; and there are laws and rules governing these procedures. But as humans, and because of our inherent imperfections, we could; by reason of error of omission or commission; contravene some of these principles. In the event when your principles are contravened by someone, do you unleash the accrued punishment in that very instance?

Can I ask you this? Have you ever; maybe by error; gone against a set rule, and was granted pardon for the offense you should have been punished for? To answer in the negative is to be grossly unfair to life - because, even the life we live is not merited. If it were to be merited; there are those that are more qualified for "life" than you, that have gone into oblivion; so why weren't you the one? If you've ever been granted pardon whatsoever in the past, why not show the same to someone else?

A story was told of a man that was driving out of his compound, and he didn't look well before hitting the major road. And before he knew wassup, he bashed a new Mercedes 4-matic SUV that was parked across the road (I'm sure you know how much it would take to change the door of the car; because it was damaged badly). But when he fell down on his knees and begged the man, and explained that he doesn't have any money, and that he was even going to ask someone for loan to make up the school fees of his kids, he was touched by that. He let the man walk away, and even helped him out for his children's school fees - what an act of humanity.

But after some months, the same man that was granted forgiveness got the bumper of his car hit by a tricycle, and the hell broke loose. He demanded for the bumper to be replaced. Even with the plea from the tricycle rider; they all fell on stony ears.. How human.

If we have ever received mercy, why then do we deny people mercy? And one thing with mercy is "we're not qualified for it; but we receive it anyway". Remember this; the mercy you show to others have a way of speaking in your favour someday, somehow. That's why the word "Second Chance" exists. Don't be always straight-jacketed to be quick to pass judgement on people's wrong doings - give them a chance of redemption. After all, that's what humanity is defined to be
