How you relate with people goes a long way to define your nature, your personality and your level of humility. Your partner (friend, wife, husband) might be nice to you, but the real question is, are they also nice to the homeless person just by the alley?

If someone close to you treats only you with respect but treats others around them with cruelty, then their respect is highly questionable. In the same way, if they are nice to only you but shows cruelty to the less privilege, their nannies, gateman or even their gardener, then their goodness is highly questionable.

Your goodness is not necessarily a function of how good or or how well you relate with your family members, friends, bosses at the office or your superiors but how you also relate with others that you consider as your subordinate or who you are not even related to - this is when your goodness will become fulfilled.

You do not know what the person at the walkway is already passing through and adding your cruelty to them might just crack them badly, but you can give them hope and you can restore their faith in humanity by the way you treat them.

Everyone does not necessarily need to become your family or among your friends' list before your goodness flows to them. Remember this; some of the things you have enjoyed were not even done to you by your friends, why shouldn't you do the same to others?

If your goodness is only reserved to those that have done good to you or to the people you are expecting goodness from, then I might not even call it goodness in the first place because it looks like just another type of business.

The truth is, without recourse to your family and friends, there are times you need to go beyond them to even sparing your enemy, and the time might just be now. Go all out and let your goodness count to everyone and not just some selected few. Bless you.
