Joy Like A River

A friend of mine once said; "no one is as doomed as a man whose joy has gone". Looking at this statement holistically, you would agree with me that there's truth in it. But it is also worthy to note that "joy" is as different from "happiness" as the day is from the night. Happiness could be short-lived, and it is also a function of the immediate happenings; but joy flows from your within.

And contrary to what some may think, joy is not necessarily a gift, rather it is your choice. And no one can succeed in taking away your joy until you permit them; irrespective of the prevailing situations.

The man Nick Vujicic; with neither arms nor legs, but you could feel his overflowing joy deep down withing him, and the feeling of satisfaction with life. But here we are; with both arms and legs complaining and murmuring, and feeling ungrateful to life.

Can I tell you this? Anything that succeeds in stealing or taking away your joy has succeeded in killing a part of you. And if your joy is attached to material things; what would happen if those things are gone? - you'd be wrecked. That's why joy is not based on asserts, possessions, acquisitions, or achievements, but it has its root in the heart.

There are many things to boost your joy... "Being able to draw in air and out" is more than enough reasons to be joyful. Many people that are better than you, more qualified than you, and even more careful than you have gone into oblivion; why not you?

As long as you still have life, then your hope is not yet gone, and anything can turn in your favour. These are the reasons you need to be joyful.

No matter how bastardized you may look now, and how pitiful your situation may be, you are still better than someone that has died... and for that, you need to be joyful. Influence the world around you with your joy, and you'll see how beautiful life can be.
