Showing Charity To Others

in #life5 years ago

You do not have to wait till you own the whole world before you give to others, even from the little you have, you can use it to make massive impact in the lives of others through your acts of charity.

Sometimes, it is not even the quantity or volume of what you have to give that matters but the heart through which it flows from. This is why someone's 10 naira might make more impact than another person's 100 naira. The most impacts might not necessarily be made by the biggest gifts but by timely and relevant gift.

If a thirsty man approaches you, for example, the only relevant gift he needs is water, not food nor clothing. Giving him any other thing, no matter the cost, might be considered as irrelevant. Until his thirst is quenched, he may not appreciate any other gift.

We should learn to be relevant in our givings, also give, not just because you have something to give, but because you need to give something worthwhile.

While doing charity to others, do not see it as you are doing the person a favour, but see it as a duty towards humanity which your are mandated to do - in this way, you will not allow pride to get a hold of you.

Once pride sets in, the value of the gift being given becomes lost, because you will tend to see the other party as being inferior to you. Remember this; that someone is a borrower today does not mean he can't be a lender tomorrow. When you understand this, you will treat people with caution.

As long as you do not know tomorrow, do not be too quick to ill-treat others. You might not know what the future will hold for them, and treating them badly might be your major undoing tomorrow.

When you burn a bridge after crossing it, you might be stranded on your way back - so never undervalue anyone today because you think you are better than them or you think they are less privileged... tomorrow might smile favorably on them.

Peace on y'all
