Deja Vu - Glitches In The Matrix?

There are many ways we have tried to explain the nature of our reality and even though we have a good idea about how it all started and how long ago, we still don't know the answers to some deep questions.

This is where smart minds come in and try and explain what it could all be and mean. One such theory is that we could be living in a simulation, most likely a computer simulation.

In simple words, we could be living inside a fake reality, designed by higher beings just like how we design computer games with characters in it. Only in our case, we are conscious and have free will (as far as we know and understand).

If our reality is indeed an artificial simulation, I think it is bound to have some glitches, even if it is designed by a hyper-intelligent race of beings. I think that's just how it is with software. One such glitch could be deja vu. Something we've all felt in our lives.

Deja Vu - A Software Glitch?

We have all had those moments where we felt that, that particular moment had happened before. But that is impossible and goes againts logic, right? I mean how can something have happened before if you are only just living it.

Scientists describe this as a memory anomaly but nothing can be proved till now. Could it be something else though? Could it be that when somehow something causes a glitch in the simulation and it tries to reboot or solve that glitch, it makes the inhabitants feel the deja vu?

It would still not answer why everyone doesn't feel it at the same time though. Maybe some people are more 'in tune' to experience it than others at that particular moment?

This idea was also shown and explained in the movie Matrix and is a really interesting one to think about. The idea of a simulated reality is actually considered by some to be the nature of our reality.

Is It Due To Precognitive Dreams?

There could be one more possible explanation that could explain deja vu. Maybe our reality is not a simulation and maybe when we experience a moment as something that has already happened before, it actually did, but in our dreams.

We still don't understand dreams fully and what the millions of vivid dreams might mean. Could it be that we sometimes have precognitive dreams, i.e. seeing future events in our dreams?

Most of the times, we don't remember what we dream about. So, if we dreamed about a future event, we would probably just forget about it until we actually experience it in real life as well and so that feeling of 'familiarity' is evoked.

That would surely make our dreams more interesting than they already are!

the mind is something amazing, the power of the mind is infinite, it is not strange to find people assure that they have lived what they have dreamed, deja vu! or not, it is not very understandable but studied by many

I am sure we will discover a lot more about our brains in the coming decades and that might include some psychic abilities as well. Our mind sure is powerful and there may be a lot to offer still.

If the time as we know it is an illusion and from the plane of deeper reality all moments of our perceived time are coexist. Then deja vu wouldn’t be a glitch but a fleeting touch with the underlying reality that might be happening when we are asleep as in dreaming, or we somehow accessed the same moment twice.

"a fleeting touch with the underlying reality". I have read about this and I must say, this sounds like another possibility as well.
