Monastery of Meteora, Greece
Meteors in Greek literally means "hovering in the air." The monastery of Meteora is a medieval monastery and one of the largest and most important complexes of Orthodox monasteries in Greece. Located on top of the towering natural rock formations, 24 monasteries were built in the 15th century, despite incredible difficulties.
