Happiness Is An Inside Job

Society taught us that wealth is happiness. That in order to become fulfilled, you have to earn a certain amount of money, own a house, drive a fancy car and buy expensive designer clothes. But is it really true that living in opulence makes you happy? 



The answer is no. Happiness is a state of mind and it depends on your attitude, not on what you have. 

Even the richest people are lacking of positivity and most importantly love. Money gives you a secured lifestyle, being able to support your family and their health is priceless but what else does money give you? If you are honest to yourself, we strive for spiritual and mental health. Your most dangerous enemy is the voice inside your head. You listen and argue with it every day but sometimes you forget that you have the power over these thoughts. It is your choice if they turn out positive or negative...

I will now list some tips that helped me to become happier and more fulfilled no matter how bad my day was. But in order to achieve results, you have to perform it constantly!



1. First thing in the morning

Take 2 minutes every morning after you opened your eyes and be thankful for everything you have. Everything you´ve accomplished and everything that is going right. Don´t waste a single thought about things that went wrong, focus on the positive. 


2. Count your blessings

Life is not easy. We go through good and bad experiences and that is what shapes us. Don´t be afraid to fail because only through failure you are able to learn. But most people make the mistake to focus on everything that turned out negative. Stop thinking about past events, take a piece of paper, grab a pen and write down your blessings. Think about 10 things you are grateful for and do this every day!


3. Silence your mind

Stop the conversation inside your mind. Don´t think about anything for 5 minutes everyday. 


4. Smile without a reason

When we are happy, our brain sends positive signals to our mouth which then turns out as a smile. It works the other way around as well. If we smile, our muscles send positive signals to our brain which makes us feel happy. So anytime you feel tired and sad, use this tip to trick your mind.


5. Love yourself

This may sound easier than it is. Because of society standards, we often feel a lack of confidence and self-love. Especially our generation has the pressure because of social media to look prettier, workout harder, have enough followers, wearing beautiful clothes, having straight and super white teeth, etc. etc. I want you to know that no one is perfect and every single one of you has qualities that make you special. Find a way to love yourself harder. It can be a simple look into the mirror and saying *Your name* - I love you. Or you can use the law of attraction and write down what you love about yourself and why you should be happy. Do what works best for you in order to feel better in your own skin.

But I really believe that if you focus on the positive, the good gets better.
