We took a long train ride to Tigre just to try our luck on the river there. It is several hours away from the city, has fresh air and of course, Fish..

My three boys took turns bringing in the hook, deciding on bait (bits of hot dogs, cheese, salami), and then begging for the next turn to come.

Lots of waiting and stories of the ones that got away. Little thieves! Take my bait, will you? Why, I'll fry you up so crisp...

But they didn't scare so easily.

This was the biggest one of the day. The others were barely bigger than minnows. They are called Dorado which means golden. The catfish we caught had some gold stripes too. I wonder if it has something to do with the water.

Several hours away from home and a long train ride in front of us, we ended up grabbing some pizza and sparing the other passengers the smell of our catch.

Disclaimer: No fish were subjected to any verbal or physical abuse while within ear shot. Furthermore, they were each fed and given a grass nap before returning to their respective homes.

These fish will live to take another boy's bait.
