Day 200: 5 Minute Freewrite: Monday - Prompt: party

When mom celebrated her 60th birthday, she asks me that we will be celebrating it together with her friends, neighbors and of course her family. We prepare something that will make her happy and all of us, her sons and daughter makes some plan for her party. We all go home where she lives and all serve the food, including her grandsons and granddaughters.

During the party they were

• singing;
• dancing;
• making some jokes;
• laughing out loud with our cousins and her friends;
• fun of chatting with each other.
• drinking moderately.

Looking at our mom who is happy that moment, the feeling of being tired from the preparation was gone. Giving happiness to someone close in your heart is worth for. Since our dad died at forty-six (46) years old we did not celebrate his party as our mom did. The gift of Life is to be celebrated as well in order not to have regrets after all.

I remember my dad whenever we have a birthday, he must set aside native chicken (bisayang manok) in our province because LIFE is a gift from God. We have no regrets when our dad died because even if he just lives too short, the values inculcated to us can be treasured forever in our hearts. So the things we did not do to our father, we make it to our mom so that even if he is not here in this world, he probably saw it.
