BANANA is a miracle edible plant.

Hello my fellow @steemians! How are you today? I just want to share with you my personal experience about why I named the banana plant as a miracle plant.

We are very fortunate that my dad is having a plantation of banana in our farm. It is being planted on the sides of the our farm away from the house and animals. Other than it protect from the water flow during rainy days, it is also our SOURCE OF WATER. Yes, you read it right. Maybe you don't believe in that since we are very far away from the water well, so my dad is very resourceful about it. Not only us, but mostly in our locality. We only rely on the rainy season to have a lot of water, but during summer time we have scarcity of water. We actually inherit that from our grandparents who used to do this because it takes us 2 hours from our place to get some water.

We used the water to cook, take a bath, water our plants, wash our clothes, wash the dishes, #drink and others. We have like two or three containers of water from the different banana that we have. Usually we used the CARDABA banana because it will give us more waters dripping down to our containers.

Steps in making banana a source of water:

  • Clean above the roots or stem near the roots (punuan);
  • Make a hole with a little bit bigger with the size of your palm in an oval shape until it reaches the banana tissue (subok);
  • Get the bamboo with the sharp head to insert near the roots that the water can drip down the container;
  • Get the water every morning or sometimes before scraping;
  • Scrape before sunset with the sea shells every day;
  • The banana tree will give water from 3 - 5 months, it depends on the size;
  • Enjoy using the waters.

WATER is LIFE.

Since water right now is accessible at our place so we did not use it anymore.

wow! I didn't know Bananas are also a source of water. Nice article :)

Thank you @carlitojoshua. Yes, we live in the mountainous baranggay before where we experience scarcity of water, but God really uses wisdom with our grandparents so that we can still live in our place.

The younger generation now are not experiencing anymore because the water are just a turn away.

God bless us always and thank you very much for the time for reading this post.

Best regards;

@starzy

That was very interesting!! good to know. we live in an earthquake area and water is pumped from far away. I will remember this if I ever need to. But what do you scrape with the sea shells?

So sorry to hear about the earthquake! How are things going now there in your place? We use the clam for scrapping, but we choose the best quality.

God bless us always!

Truly yours;

@starzy

Oh no, we don't have an earthquake right now, but we could. and water is a big problem if that happens. I have emergency water stored - but never would have thought about the bananas as a source of water. Now, i know!!
That is valuable knowledge to have.!!!

Your welcome! Wow, its great to have an emergency water. Thanks for this prompt again @mariannewest!

i didn't know about that..thanks for sharing..

Until high school, I experienced such kind of life because water is really far from us... but now it is just right in front of them.... Thank you @junebride... God bless us always...
