However, some people can suffer from yellow teeth condition even when they take good care and hygiene. But it’s hard to explain it to someone else. So, what is it that’s making your teeth yellow? To understand this, let us first have a look at why they turn yellow.

Our teeth have a sensitive covering called enamel, which is a protective layer for our teeth. The color of healthy enamel is generally white, which gives a bright look to our teeth. However, when the enamel gets degraded, it could become thin and more translucent, which will show the yellow layer underneath them, called dentin.

So basically, we have to protect our enamel to keep our teeth healthy and protect them from eroding. Here are some surprising things you might be doing wrong which is causing your teeth to become yellow :

  • Too much Soda
If you’re one of those people who drink soda beverages like water, this might be the reason your teeth are turning yellow. Soda drinks are filled with sugar and acids, which can erode our enamel. Too much contact of these acidic syrups with our teeth can leave them exposed to acid for a long time, resulting in enamel erosion.
  • Coffee and Tea Stains
If you drink coffee or tea all day long as a regular habit, it might be the reason your teeth are turning yellow. Regular coffee drinkers face this issue all the time. That’s because it contains the substances which can leave stains on our teeth. Although there are many benefits of coffee, it’s a good idea to lower your intake. If you are unable to do that, you can alternatively use other methods to drink your beverages, such as drinking it quicker or using straws to drink it, as it can effectively reduce the staining. However, dipping plastic straws in a hot cup of coffee is not a good idea as it can release plastic substances into your drink which are harmful to your health. So, see if you have an alternative option, such as metallic straws which are become more common.
  • Rigorous brushing
Since we have discussed the reasons for yellow teeth before, you would probably have an idea by now about why brushing too vigorously can make your teeth yellow. Being too harsh while brushing can obviously damage your enamel and erode it. Be gentle when you brush while increasing the time a little bit to get the best results.
  • Tobacco
There are several other reasons to quit smoking, but teeth staining is one of them. Cigarette smoke is filled with dozens of chemicals which can stain our teeth. The stains can accumulate over time and become permanent. So, go ahead and make another attempt to quit smoking.
  • Mouthwash
Using too much mouthwash can also cause erosion of your teeth enamel, especially when you are using the ones that have more acid content in it. Most of the mouthwashes available in the market are acidic and it’s ironic that they don’t consider this problem while designing their oral product.
  • Acidic foods
You may be taking a lot of acidic foods, including citrus fruits and vegetables. Despite being healthy, they can have negative impacts on our teeth enamel. In this regard, a strong recommendation would be to give up on processed and artificial fruit juices and drinks which are filled with chemicals and have no nutritional value. Instead, go for more natural thinks to drink and eat.

Conclusion
The thing about teeth enamel is that it’s too precious to be wasted. You don’t get it back, so make sure you don’t lose it. It’s not necessary that you give up on all of these entirely, so it’s a good idea to thoroughly wash your mouth after your teeth are exposed to these substances. This way you will be able to reduce the exposure and wash them off from your teeth to ensure minimum contact time.

The LEADING Cause Of Yellow Teeth? The Dentin in your teeth (The Main Inner Substance under your Clear Enamel )... and NOTHING will whiten That ... My teeth are slightly yellow ... and NOTHING will whiten them after a Certain point , due to the Dentin color , which is genetic. Dentin can also be yellowed by excessive fluoride ... typically in cities with Fluoride in the drinking water :(

BEST way to whiten your Teeth is actually Activated Charcoal ... Brush your teeth with it 2-3 times a week ... and it will remove enamel stains that ALL other products leave behind :) You can Buy a bag of it on Amazon for about $10 that will last you YEARS!!!
