Getting Off Fantasy Or Reality?

First sex post - don’t get at me bitches - you know you love it. All jokes aside, I decided to venture into taboo (but not so much) territory as it’s something that I find worth being explored and talked about.
We all love a good jerking off sesh, especially one that hits the sweet spot - and sometimes, doing so coincidences with using our most used tab in our history – I’ve named porn.
This billion (if not trillion) dollar industry knows how to keep us hooked and coming back for more. (Fun fact or perhaps disturbing one, the other day I was watching a video in which random people were being interviewed for how much in debt they were in and where their debt came from. One of the person who had the biggest debt of all the people interviewed said she accumulated it from watching too much expensive porn. I died.)
What’s interesting to me is the fact that nowadays, porn depicts what I see as a reality disguised as a fantasy. What we see on our screen while jerking off at 2 in the morning is no longer an ideal to be attained or an over sexualized representation of the act of sex - it is rather a reality that is being reproduced outside the fantasy realm - in the real world.
We have taken these virtual fantasies of ours to a whole other level. Nothing is off limits anymore. Fictional role plays have turned into role plays that involve real people with real statuses and real jobs on the line. (I’m not stating here that people in the adult industry aren’t real people or that their job isn’t real. It’s rather the fact that they are being paid for performing and putting on an act.)
Animalistic sex has become the norm. Brutality is the new sexy. Humiliating is exciting. Swallow it like you’ve earned it – is the way to go at it. Cheating on my husband with his best friend isn’t just another trending tag searched for online. Fucking my step daddy when mommy is gone on vacation isn’t off the charts no more. Fuck any of my inhibitions away please- is the new motto that the porn world has ingrained deep into our minds. We’ve been brainwashed to believe that triple anal sex feels fucking painless. That degradation is hot.
The more one scrolls through the endless stream of sex material there is to be found online, the more one unconsciously levels up his own standards to match the faulty fantasies that are being sold to him. Fantasies aren’t to be kept solely in the one-dimension universe of our mind no more. They can - and surely will - be brought to the 3rd dimension world. We don’t care we will burn ourselves trying to make our naughtiest thoughts come to life. We’ve been shown that playing with fire is the answer.
I’ve often thought “how far will it go?” “where will it all end?” the boundaries seem to be non existent... I think your right... it would seem that some of the (what I would call) over the top or extreme porn is becoming the norm and people eventually see these actors and have an implanted desire to replicate it in there own sex lives - monkey see monkey do huh? I mean obviously not every one but a lot of what we see on a screen can be quite influential to a lot of people subliminally or direct. ...... on another note ... are those CD earrings? 👌genius

Wow!!! Interesting and truly exciting topic. Pornography is an interesting topic and where it has gone is endemic of our instant access society. I have found that porn and some of the corresponding behaviors performed around it, are both a problem of access as well as a mental health problem.
Twenty years ago, porn was hard to get and required a willingness to travel to a store, awkwardly look a round in some strange building, and risk being seen by people who also were trying to covertly squire the materials. I think access to unlimited porn as ramped up the speed at which porn evolves the access was the barrier. It was a breakwater for the tidal wave.
That moves me to the mental health side. I truly believe porn is actually a mental health problem and the rate at which it depicts what we would define as deviant behavior has exploded. There is no science behind this, but porn provides a quick fix, dopamine rush for people. People become addicted to that, they need that, the problem lies that like with any drug or addiction, it takes more to get the user to the high, thus the demand for more extreme scenarios. Truly believe it can be a very destructive in people. I also worry as we as a society are exposed to porn at this volume and the subject matter being where it is, we could come to see some of these situations as normalized in our culture.

Love your insights on the topic! I could not agree more! The abuse of porn definitely falls in the spectrum of addiction. And you are absolutely right. The easy access world we live in (shoutout to eazy e 😂) will probably be the death of us at some point;)
I am more and more intrigued by your last two paragraphs. I have read them a couple of times and I think there is really something there. I don't have a fear that extreme will become the new normal. That every time we reach our limit for what we accept, we actually condition our mind to allow us to go a little further down the path.

I am numb now to the vast amount of people insisting on their right to degradation in their conduct. Many (men) are waking up to the fact that chances are forever more means until someone else comes along who is brand new and shiny and offers the excitement that always quickly wears off from that honeymoon stage where there is still mystery.

I am thankful (despite being taken to the cleaners twice in divorce) to be older. I couldn't imagine being a young man today being led to the slaughter, or a young woman misled into believing the power over men via her looks and sex appeal has an expiration date, despite the illusions makeup and such offer.
It was unthinkable that we could be so disconnected from one another, trained to be vultures for a moments self gratification at others expense when I was young.
It's nice to read posts like this from one who is young like yourself. Perhaps voices such as yours can influence others who are naive due to the overwhelming power and illusion of invincibility their youth cages them in.
